Toyota's continuous commitment to environmental preservation has earned them their 11th consecutive Energy Star Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Award. The initiatives the company has taken to reduce their carbon footprint and remain eco-friendly over the last 13 years have greatly benefited our society. Toyota has won more Sustained Excellence Awards than any other automaker, proving they are environmental leaders in the automotive world.

Over 43,000 team members across Toyota's U.S. facilities work to help the company preserve the environment and also save money. Since they began their sustainability efforts in 2002, Toyota has been able save close to $600 million. At their Alabama plant, they save 300,000 gallons of water a year by reusing compressor condensate water in the their cooling tower, used solar lights, daylight and LED lighting to save on electricity and utilize higher-efficiency motors. Across all North American plants they've also reduced the use of natural gas and electricity to lower CO2 emissions by 40 percent, and they've reduced total energy use by 35 percent per vehicle produced.

These initiatives, along with numerous others, continue to positively impact Toyota and the environment. We admire the work Toyota has been doing over the years and we look forward to their future accomplishments.
