The 2016 Top Safety Pick+ Awards have been officially handed out by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and of the many cars awarded, four Toyota models were honored. The 2016 Toyota Camry, Prius V, RAV4 and Avalon were each praised for their first-class safety features and available pre-collision systems, putting them among the best new vehicles offered on the market today.

"At Toyota, we continue to focus on the safety and peace of mind of our customers," said Dino Triantafyllos, Toyota's North American Chief Quality Officer. "We are proud that IIHS has recognized our commitment to helping protect drivers and passengers."

Toyota is an automaker that continuously strives to produce reliable cars, trucks and SUVs that come equipped with exceptional safety features. Due to the company’s commitment to safety, the 2016 Toyota Avalon, RAV4, Camry and Prius V each received good ratings in five of the IIHS' crash-worthiness tests, and earned a superior or advanced rating for their available front crash prevention systems complete with automatic braking. Out of the four models given Top Safety Pick+ Awards, the Avalon and RAV4 were the newest models to receive pre-collison systems this year, with both systems earning a superior rating.
