It's been a good seven-year run for the Toyota Venza, but come this June, Toyota has announced that it will officially end production of the mid-size crossover SUV. With the demand for other models in Toyota's lineup growing significantly and the strength of more popular CUVs, such as the Highlander and RAV4, the Venza is has become a less relevant part of the company's roster. By axing the aging model, Toyota will be able to increase production of other models and eventually fill the hole left by the Venza with a new model.
It will be a sad day in June when production of the Venza comes to an end, but longtime fans will still have a chance to get their hands on a model before they become hard to find. Dealerships will continue to sell 2015 Venzas, which are currently in stock at Vandergriff Toyota, and export markets will keep receiving models until September of 2017. Toyota's Kentucky manufacturing facility, where the Venza is built, has already ramped up production of the RAV4 to make up for the outgoing crossover. The Highlander, manufactured at Toyota’s Princeton, IN plant, will be the next model to also receive a production increase. Both the RAV4 and Highlander have been performing well on the market this year, making them the perfect choices to pick up the pace when the Venza sees its final days.
