If you love the Texas Rangers as much as we do, here at Vandergriff Toyota in Arlington, and are looking to experience a ballgame beyond the bleachers, you’ll want to tailgate at least once! Not only is it a great way to mingle with family and friends, but it’s also a fun way to show team spirit! However, before you round up your friends, pack your coolers with delicious game day food and head down to Globe Life Park and tailgate, there are some important things to keep in mind. Here are the top do’s and don’ts of tailgating:
DO
- If you’re going to drink, make sure you have a designated driver with you; one who can drive you home when the game is over.
- Spring weather in Texas is usually all over the place, so be sure to pack a variety of clothes for warm, rainy or cooler weather.
- If you’re going to cook out, bring plenty of ice to keep your food and beverages from getting too hot and spoiling.
- If you plan on grilling out, make sure to bring plenty of charcoal and lighter fluid.
DON’TS
- Listening to your favorite music is a great way to enhance your tailgating experience, but just remember to keep it at reasonable levels.
- While gas and charcoal cooking is allowed at the ballpark, open flame fires aren’t and neither are deep fryers or any oil-based cooking or frying.
- Most would agree that fireworks enhance events, but they’re not allowed here, so don’t bother bringing them.
- Remember to tailgate only in grassy areas, as paved parking spaces are reserved for nothing other than vehicles.
