Specs at a Glance
There is plenty to be excited about with the Toyota Camry. With the 2020 model year Camry, Toyota is adding the sportiest trim level to date called the Camry TRD, built off the current Camry XSE trim. There is no question that the Toyota Camry is arguably the best midsize sedan on the market, and the TRD and XSE trim levels add performance and beautiful interiors to push this model into the upper-echelon of the all-time greatest and best-selling car models.
Power & Performance
The Camry TRD and XSE trims are built to look sportier, but the TRD is expected to perform sportier. The 2020 Camry XSE engine options have yet to be confirmed, but the current model year features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine capable of producing up to 206 horsepower. The Camry was completely redesigned a couple of years ago, and the XSE is a new trim, so one shouldnāt expect much to change for this model. However, the 206 horsepower of the current XSE is above average for other vehicles of the same class. The 2020 Toyota Camry TRD will feature a 301 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine, with a new exhaust system for a meaner-sounding engine. The current XSE model averages 32 miles per gallon combined, which we shouldnāt expect to change much, and the TRD should be expected to get less than that with the added power.
Highly Impressive Appearance
With a full remodel having just been completed a few years ago, buyers shouldnāt expect too many cosmetic changes from the Camry XSE. The 2020 Camry TRD will likely feature the most changes to the standard Camry appearance. The TRD trim will feature 19-inch matte black wheels, which are the largest of the Camry trims. The TRD will also add side skirts, a spoiler and will likely sit slightly lower than the other trim levels for added maneuverability. Buyers considering giving the XSE trim a look are not to be discouraged as the eighth-generation(XV70) Camry is visually stunning regardless of the trim level.
Amazing Features
Regardless of the trim level, the Toyota Camry is one of the safest sedan models on the market. All 2019 Camry models came standard with Toyota Safety Sense P, including automatic braking, lane keep and departure warnings, high-visual headlights, and adaptive cruise control. Buyers should expect this safety technology to remain standard with the 2020 Camry TRD and XSE. The current XSE model came standard with an eight-inch infotainment system with hands-free accessibility, Bluetooth, and many other features. A comparable infotainment system should come standard for both trim levels in the 2020 model year.
The 2020 Toyota Camry is one of the most exciting Toyota models of all time, especially with the introduction of the TRD trim level. Regardless of which trim level you pick, you are practically guaranteed to get one of the best sedans on the market.
