2017 Toyota 86 Overview

The Scion FR-S nameplate is dead and gone, but the model survives. Rebranded as the 2017 Toyota 86, the sports coupe arrives back on the market with slight tweaks and design modifications that help it fit nicely into Toyota's roster.

While the 2017 Toyota 86 in Arlington does keep many of the same components as the FR-S, it does sport changes to its exterior styling. The car gets a newly reshaped grille, a revised front bumper and updated headlights. It also features new alloy wheels with twisted spokes, a fresh rear bumper and improved taillights that enhance its overall appearance.

For the new model year, the car also receives some interior updates, which you can read more about in our 2017 Toyota 86 review below.

Interior & Features

Inside the Toyota 86, you'll find soft-touch surfaces and accent stitching that give the cabin a unique look. The gauge cluster has also been situated in a way that puts it directly in line with the driver, making it easy for drivers to monitor their speed.

Aside from the interior layout, the 2017 Toyota 86 in Arlington comes with a sufficient amount of standard equipment, including LED taillights, aluminum pedals, scuff plates, 17-inch wheels, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a Pioneer audio system, HD radio and fold-flat rear seats.

Generating 205 horsepower and 156 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2.0L inline four-cylinder equipped on the Toyota 86 provides ample performance. Matched with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, the displacement helps provide a fun driving experience that's often hard to find.

Safety Equipment

A five-star crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration proves the new Toyota 86 is exceptionally secure. The car comes complete with standard safety features, including antilock brakes, six airbags, traction and stability control, and a rearview camera.

Additionally, buyers can add-on blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assists, which have each been praised in multiple 2017 Toyota 86 reviews.
