What's New For the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser?

Although it doesn't have any aesthetic differences from 2019, the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser offers two trim levels - Land Cruiser and the new Heritage Edition trim. The base-level trim seats eight occupants, while the Heritage Edition seats five. Both trims have many commonalities including top-notch off-road performance. Both are equipped with an innovative suspension system that enables superior handling while ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride for occupants. The Land Cruiser also comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense package, which includes a variety of helpful driver-assist aids. Along with these standard features, both trims of the Land Cruiser can be customized with a variety of add-on amenities such as an integrated cooler and heated steering wheel.

2020 Land Cruiser Trims & Features

Available in two trims this year, the base trim is the same trim offered in the 2019 model year. The all-new Heritage Edition is the new offering for Land Cruiser customers in 2020. It adds on a few more standard features to the Land Cruiser's long list of amenities. 

The base model's exterior is characterized by bold LED lights that automatically adjust to changing light conditions. This trim gets roof rails and a basic towing package featuring a towing hitch receiver and a wiring harness. As for the interior, it features three rows of seats, holding up to eight occupants.

A nine-inch touchscreen display infotainment system and a dual-screen appearance are standard. This infotainment system is connected to a premium JBL sound system with 14 speakers. The sunroof also comes standard in the base trim, as well as comfortable climate-controlled perforated leather seats that are heated and ventilated. 

The Heritage Edition offers an enhanced infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth, and voice command. This model reduces the Land Cruiser's maximum seating capacity to five by eliminating the third row of seats. A cargo cover protects luggage in the trunk, while a standard cargo basket gives you more storage space on the roof. The Heritage Edition is also distinguished by trim-specific badges and 18-inch wheels with a bronze finish.

2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Horsepower

Although there is a new trim level to the Land Cruiser lineup this year, it shares the same engine as the base model. Both Land Cruisers are powered by a capable V8 engine with a 5.7L displacement. The Land Cruiser's engine generates just over 380 HP and 400 LB-FT of torque. It is matched to a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. Both trim levels are available with four-wheel drive for optimal traction and control.

From front to back, the Land Cruiser's long list of safety amenities has you covered. The Land Cruiser comes standard with 10 airbags for all occupants. It also has pretensioners and an advanced airbag system for the front seats. Forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and high beam assist are standard as well.
