Going green is the name of the game for Toyota. At the recent New York International Auto Show, the famous automaker’s all-new Mirai model was named the 2016 World Green Car after beating out seven other cars from around the globe. The vehicles were judged on things like tailpipe emissions, fuel consumption, and use of a major advanced powerplant technology.

Known by many as, “the car of the future,” it emits ZERO emissions. Plus, the hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle delivers more range than any plug-in electric car currently on the market. Unfortunately, due to the current limited refueling locations, it can only be bought in areas of California. However, several automotive reports say Toyota has plans to have more stations built, sometime in the near future. This would give many more drivers the ability to purchase the car.

By carrying 11 pounds of pressurized hydrogen, the four-door sedan is able to achieve a top range of 300 miles. In lay terms, this means that the ultra-modern Mirai gets 60 miles per gallon. On top of this big benefit, it tops out at a maximum speed of 111 miles per hour, and, unlike today’s EVs, it doesn’t come with the limitations of a charging cord.

As mentioned above, Mirai is only available for purchase in the Golden State. However, we do have an extensive selection of 2016 Toyota Prius models, which are also very stylish and achieve fantastic fuel efficiency.
