Three Ways to Unlock the Door

You can lock and unlock your Toyota vehicles in three different ways with the Toyota Smart Key System. First, the smart key will turn on when the car senses it within a three-foot proximity. The courtesy lights will flash, and you can unlock the driver's side door when you put your hand behind the handle of the vehicle. If you go to the passenger's side of the door and put your hand by it, you can unlock all the doors in the vehicle. Finally, you can also use the Toyota Smart Key System to unlock the car door as needed.

Working with the Trunk

Along with opening the car door, the Toyota Smart Key System can also pop the trunk of your vehicle. How does it work? You simply put your hand above the license plate to open the trunk. You can also choose to open the trunk by simply pressing the button on the smart key. When it unlocks, you will hear two beeps. If you press the alarm on the car, it will sound off to scare off any thieves or vandals. Locking the Doors

If you put the key inside the vehicle to the left, it will lock all the doors. However, if you turn the key to the right one time, it will unlock all the doors. If you turn the key to the right two times, it unlocks all the passenger doors. Unlocking the car doors from the key fob, it will turn on all the exterior lights, and it will turn on the interior lights too. The lights on the car will stay on for 30 seconds before turning off.

What Does the Push Button Start Feature Do?

The exceptional convenience of the push-button start feature might even catch you off guard at first. You shift the transmission over into parking mode. Next, put your foot on the brake to stop or start the brakes and get the motor running. If you wish to turn off the engine, you simply put the vehicle in park and push the button.
