The 2025 espnW: Women + Sports Summit in Ojai, CA, delivered a memorable and uplifting experience for women athletes and for Toyota. Marking the 10th year of the Toyota Everyday Heroes program, the company celebrated girls and women who are making a real impact in sports. Each honoree was awarded $15,000 in recognition of their achievements.

The 10th Class of Toyota Everyday Heroes

Toyota ambassador Jess Sims attended the summit to help present awards at the long-running espnW: Women + Sport Summit, now in its 13th year. Over the three-day event, Toyota highlighted the 2026 RAV4, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner, and, most importantly, the outstanding girls and women chosen as Toyota Everyday Heroes. Their stories brought inspiration and energy to the entire audience.

ā€œToyota is proud to honor Jessica Carter of HER Sports and Amberly Klam of Texas Fury as the 2025 Everyday Heroes for their outstanding work using sports to create opportunities and empowerment within their communities,ā€ said MJ Kroll, senior manager of media at Toyota Motor North America.

Jessica Carter, a former college basketball player from Virginia, created HER Sports to ensure girls in her community can experience the full benefits of athletics. Her work centers on offering equal opportunities for all girls. Today, HER Sports serves about 400 girls through four main programs.

Amberly Klam was also celebrated as part of this year’s Everyday Heroes class. She founded Texas Fury, a flag football organization, and encourages more girls to take part in the sport. Inspired by her daughter Ashlea’s passion for flag football, Klam works to make the game accessible to other girls who want to play.

Toyota was proud to once again be part of the espnW Women + Sport Summit and to share some of its newest vehicle innovations with attendees. The event proved meaningful for both the athletes and the company, and Toyota looks forward to further supporting espnW programs that uplift and empower communities through sports.
